Turkish Süper Lig — Gameweek 7

Turkish Süper Lig — Gameweek 7
No ideas? No problem, we’ll give you a hand. Take a peak into the best transfer options for GW7.

Below you’ll find the crème de la crème of this week’s fantasy studs, provided to you by the masterminds behind Fantezi Futbol Türkiye.
Flash Players
Mbaye Diagne (Galatasaray, Forward)
There is a former top-goalscorer waiting in the substitutes behind Radamel Falcao, he is Mbaye Diagne. His 30 goals in 2018–2019 Turkish Süper Lig season gave him the title as “Top Non-Turkish Goalscorer in League History”. Despite his success on the pitch, his disciplinary problems prevented him to pursue his career in Galatasaray in the following season. At the beginning of the new season, he made a fresh start for his club by re-joining. However, world class scorer Falcao is the first choice of Fatih Terim. Diagne played just for 138 minutes in 5 league games. He has scored two goals in European League so far this season. Diagne will most probably be on the field in starting elevens this week since Falcao is banned. He is also the most powerful candidate to take a possible penalty kick.
Anthony Nwakaeme (Trabzonspor, Midfielder)
Anthony Nwakaeme has already been one of the fantasy football heroes with his performance in two consecutive years. (10 goals & 10 assists in 2018–2019 and 11 goals & 6 assists in 2019–2020 season.) He made a bad start for his 3rd year together with his team mates and scored just 1 goal so far in the league. He is expected to play a leading role against Kasımpaşa to alter the course of his team.

Papy Djilobodji (Gaziantep FK, Defender)
Senegalese defender started his Turkish Süper Lig career last year. He was paid attention by the football authorities with his performance in Gaziantep FK. He scored 6 goals, made 2 assists and got 5 clean sheets last season. He was one of the most favourite players of fantasy football fans last year since he played out-of-position in some games. He is also very capable inside the box during the dead ball situations. He is one of the clean sheet candidates of the week against Gençlerbirliği who are the least scorer team so far. He can also earn more points with possible goals or assists.

Loic Remy (Ç.Rizespor, Forward)
Together with Alanyaspor’s Davidson, who was one of our recommendations last week, Loic Remy shares the hat-trick goalscorers throne. French striker made an impressive debut to Turkish Süper Lig with 5 goals in 6 games. Especially in Ankaragücü game, he gave the impression that he will be one of the fantasy football heroes with his hat-trick in 23 minutes. He will be one of the top picks this week against Kayserispor considering also that he is the first option for penalty kicks in Rizespor.
Dimitrios Pelkas (Fenerbahçe, Midfielder)
Pelkas played 4 games for PAOK in Champions League Elimination Rounds at the beginning of the season and he scored 2 goals in these games. After his PAOK adventure, he joined Fenerbahçe afterwards and scored one goal in 3 games. In these 3 games, he played in different positions and proved that he is a versatile player. As the team leader in shots per game statistics (3 shots per game), he should be considered as one of the top picks of the week against Antalyaspor.
Surprise Pick
Pedro Henrique (Kayserispor, Midfielder)
After the leave of Bernard Mensah, Pedro Henrique became the leader player of Kayserispor. He is generally the most picked player in the games which Kayserispor is close to win. Brazilian made 10 goals and 1 assist performance last season. He missed the first two games of the season because of injury. He played 45 minutes in the previous game and finished the game with 1 goal and 1 penalty earning with 3 shots. It seems that he has recently started the season and more is expected from him.
Recommended Teams for Player Picks
Galatasaray
Galatasaray will play Ankaragücü, which is one of the weakest teams in Süper Lig this season in terms of squad quality. In addition to that, Ankaragücü has 7 covid-19 positive players. Until the last minute, we should expect a postpone from this game. If there is no postponment, then it is better to pick as much Galatasaray player as possible for this game.
Fenerbahçe
Considering the depth and quality of the squad, Fenerbahçe is the most powerful candidate for winning the title this season. The team played very impressively in the second half of Trabzonspor game and showed how strong they are. They are very close to win against Antalyaspor who have 6 injured and 2 banned players this week.

AFN: Nigerian Athletes Not At Risk Of Missing Tokyo Olympics

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has debunked as misleading a report in a national daily that Nigerian athletes risk missing out of next year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan because of the addition of Nigeria to the highest category (A) of nations having the highest doping risk to the sport.
Rule 15 of the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules sets out the National Federations’ anti- doping obligations. The purpose of the rule is to ensure that Member Federations have clear anti-doping obligations, play a greater part in ensuring a level playing field and elevate the overall standard of integrity in athletics.
Under the rules, National Federations are categorised annually by the Athletics Integrity Unit Board in three different categories — A, B and C — according to the level of doping risk to the sport. (Category A having the highest doping risk to the sport and Category C the lowest).

AFN President, Honurable Olamide George says Sunday Adeleye, a former member of the board of the federation who was erroneously addressed as the technical director of the AFN in the story was only looking for relevance by rehasing an old story.

“The addition of Nigeria to the A category was done in March this year and both the AFN and the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development have made appreciable efforts to ensure compliance with the relevant anti-doping rules. I am shocked the newspaper failed in its duty of reporting all sides to the story. Adeleye should have been asked what efforts did the AFN make while he was there as technical director,” said George who revealed that the AFN did not have an anti-doping department and head until this year when the board met in January and named Professor Ken Anugweje as head of the committee.
“This is one of the basic requirements set out in Rule 15.The AFN (and not the Sports Ministry) is expected to ‘appoint one person as primary contact for the Athletics Integrity Unit with authority over anti-doping matters. Rule 15 of the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules is clearly about the obligations of member federations (the AFN in this case) and Adeleye should have ensured he understands the rules before coming out to raise false and unnecessary alarm,” George added and assurred that Nigerian athletes will be in Tokyo next year at the Olympics.
“I am glad the story has been able to reveal Adeleye’s lack of capacity when he served as the technical director of the AFN. If he understands World Athletics anti-doping rules, he would have known that the categorisation does not mean suspension of Nigeria as a nation but only of athletes who did not go through the necessary anti-doping procedures prior to the start of the Games in Tokyo. He would have also known that international elite athletes like Blessing Okagbare, Tobi Amusan, Ese Brume, Divine Oduduru and a few athletes who have qualified for the Games are in the international testing pool and get tested regularly while competing in the international circuit. In fact, the National Anti-Doping Committee (NADC) has confirmed that Brume, Amusan and majority of the foreign-based athletes have been tested several times this year,” said George who expressed shock that Adeleye is blaming the Sports Ministry for his inefficiency and that of his boss when they were at the helm of affairs at the federation.
“One of the obligations expected to be fulfilled for example is that ”athletes selected in national team for the Olympic Games and World Athletics Series Events and Athletes’ support personnel under National Federation’s jurisdiction are subject to mandatory education programmes on main antidoping issues’. How is this the business of the Sports Ministry? Rule 15 of World Athletics anti-doping rules is clearly about AFN obligations in ensuring compliance. The Sports Ministry’s efforts are just complementary.”
Beyioku also debunked Adeleye’s claim of interference by the Sports Ministry, the biggest sponsor of the federation.
“I think he needs to look at his dictionary for the meaning of the word, interference. Did the Sports Ministry interfered when he and Ibrahim Gusau signed a kitting contract with equipment and sportswear giants, PUMA without the knowledge and consent of the board and particularly the Secretary General who the federation’s constitution made its chief administrative and accounting officer? Did the Sports Ministry direct that monies meant for the federation should be paid into Adeleye’s business account (Dynamic Sporting Solutions)? Adeleye’s reign as AFN technical director only brought international disgrace to Nigeria as witnessed at the Commonwealth Games in 2018, the World Championships in Doha, Qatar last year and at the African Games in Rabat, Morocco also last year.

Champions League: Man City Through To Last 16

Phil Foden first-half strike proved decisive as Manchester City secured a place in the Champions League last 16 following a 1-0 win against Olympiacos.
Manchester City dominated possession but wasted a number of goal scoring opportunities in the game.
After stiff resistance by the hosts , Foden broke the deadlock and ultimately won the game.

Olympiakos rallied slightly towards the end with their two efforts but could not find the equaliser.

It sends Man City into the knockout stages for the eighth successive year, with four wins from four group games this season as they search for their first Champions League title.
Olympiakos stay third in Group C with qualification for the Europa League still within their reach.

REVEALED: Joshua Vs. Pulev Confirmed For December 12

‘AJ’ faces IBF Mandatory Challenger at The O2
Unified Heavyweight Champion of the World Anthony Joshua OBE will defend his IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO World Titles against Mandatory Challenger Kubrat Pulev at The O2 in London on Saturday December 12, live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and on DAZN in all of its nine markets including the U.S., on a show promoted by Matchroom Boxing in association with Top Rank and Epic Sports and Entertainment.
Joshua (23-1, 21 KOs) recaptured his belts and position as the Unified Heavyweight World Champion with a masterful unanimous decision victory over Andy Ruiz Jr at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia on an historical night in December that saw the Heavyweight World Titles contested for the very first time in the Middle East.

December 12 will be ‘AJ’s’ first fight on UK soil in over two years, since he defended his crowns with a devastating seventh round knockout of Russia’s Alexander Povetkin at Wembley Stadium, and the former Finchley ABC man will be aiming to deal with Pulev in style to set up an Undisputed showdown against WBC Champion and fellow Brit Tyson Fury in 2021.

Pulev (28-1, 14 KOs), the IBF’s No.1-ranked Heavyweight Mandatory Challenger, gets his second shot at World honours after his defeat to modern legend Wladimir Klitschko in 2014 – the only loss of his 29-fight professional career. He has won six fights in a row since then, including victories over Derek Chisora and an IBF Eliminator win over Hughie Fury in 2018.
The Bulgarian superstar was set to challenge Joshua at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in October 2017 but was forced to withdraw through an injury and will now get his opportunity to ruin the champion’s plans to face Fury in an all-British blockbuster showdown in the future.
“December 12 is the date and once again the Heavyweight belts go up in the air and it is my sole focus to make sure that come December 13 they are in their rightful place in the UK,” said Joshua.
“The O2 is the original lion’s den, I have a lot of history with the arena, but without the fans something huge is missing. I am really hoping that, safety permitting, we might be able to bring some boxing fans in, but we will have to see. I respect every opponent and I respect Pulev. I wish him well during his preparation.”
“For a small country of Bulgaria to stand up for the Heavyweight Titles is a great accomplishment,” said Pulev. “This fight is for my late father and all Bulgarians around the world! I’m coming to London to seize the Heavyweight Championship of the World.”

“After a challenging year for everyone, to end with the unified World Heavyweight Championship is very special,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “Over a year after regaining his crown, Anthony Joshua takes on yet another dangerous opponent in Mandatory Challenger Kubrat Pulev. AJ’s resume is unrivalled, and this is the final hurdle until we challenge for the undisputed crown next year.
“Whilst it’s unusual to think of an AJ fight without tens of thousands of fans in attendance, we will be doing everything we can to lobby for the safe return of fans to this event, we have to move forward together. I know Team Pulev and Bob Arum will be doing all they can to become World Champion on Dec 12 but AJ constantly evolves and improves and I expect a dominant performance and a spectacular KO to close out 2020.”
Bob Arum, Top Rank Chairman, said: “Eddie Hearn better watch out. Kubrat Pulev is going to destroy his plan for a Joshua-Tyson Fury unification fight.”
258 Managing Director Freddie Cunningham said: “Anthony again shows his willingness and desire to chase the Undisputed Title with another tough mandatory fight and despite the challenges of making a fight of this scale during these times it is important for AJ to keep momentum. It will be an exciting way to end the year and unique in every way. We will be working with Matchroom to build a card full of 258 fighters to give the fans entertainment throughout the undercard.”
John Wirt, President of Epic Sports and Entertainment, said: “Crowd or no crowd, we are coming to AJ’s backyard to claim the titles. Come December 12, there will be no more excuses or delays. I guarantee that it will be an epic battle and that Kubrat will stop AJ inside the distance.”
“Anthony Joshua returns to the ring, a year after recapturing his World Titles from Andy Ruiz Jr, and Britain’s Unified World Champion will be determined to reign supreme in a hotly-contested Heavyweight division,” said Adam Smith, Head of Sky Sports Boxing Development.
“Kubrat Pulev has proven pedigree, with just that sole defeat to Wladimir Klitschko, and he’ll be hoping to send more shockwaves through the sport with an upset victory, but I know that AJ has been training tirelessly, priming his explosive power for another night of fireworks.
“Tyson Fury will of course be watching – as an Undisputed World Title fight is within touching distance – and AJ cannot afford a slip-up in a blockbuster ending to the boxing year.”
“We’re thrilled to bring the Heavyweight Championship of the World to all DAZN subscribers,” said DAZN EVP Joseph Markowski. “AJ-Pulev will have major consequences for the entire boxing landscape as both men aim to end the year in emphatic fashion.”
