Conor McGregor Set To Take On Dustin Poirier

Conor McGregor is one of the most famous names in the UFC, the bad boy of the sport. As such, there are plenty of UFC fans and sports betting fans looking forward to the upcoming bout against Dustin Poirier on the 23rd January 2021. These two have quite the history and the fight is definitely well anticipated by all. However, most major sports betting such as Sportsbet, will have McGregor as the favourite by quite a margin.
The fight, which will take place in Abu Dhabi this month, sees these two old rivals ready to settle old scores. The last time they went toe to toe, McGregor stopped Poirier in the first round. But, this was six years ago and nothing is the same. McGregor’s star rose in the sport. He became the first UFC fighter to hold world titles in two different divisions at the same time. However, Poirier also saw some success, beating names such as Eddie Alvarez, Dan Hooker, Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje, and earning himself the interim UFC lightweight title.

A Lot at Stake
There is a lot at stake for both of these fighters, which is the appeal of the fight for fans. With Khabib having retired, and the title being up for grabs, whoever wins this will surely head his way up to the front of the queue for the title. The opposite can be said for the loser.

As such, people will be eagerly anticipating the match to see what happens, with the main action scheduled for 10 pm E.T. on the 23rd January, with the undercard set to start at 6.30 pm E.T. The action should go on till at least midnight, giving players value for money.
Fans of the fight, that can’t make it all the way to Abu Dhabi, can watch the action on the ESPN+ subscription on a Pay Per View basis, and a number of online betting sites will allow you to live stream the fight if you put a decent size wager on it. If opting for the PPV option, then don’t expect it to come cheap, as this is a hotly anticipated match up, and the price will very much reflect that.
Who Will Win?
The biggest question is who will win this epic bout? Well, without a doubt, the favourite to take the win is McGregor, with all sports betting sites favouring the Irishman. However, no one can count out Poirier, as anything can happen, and the closer the fight gets, the better the odds are for a Poirier win.
Their stats are both very impressive, with men both of a similar age, the same height, although McGregor has the reach advantage. Looking at records, McGregor has had 26 professional fights, with a record of 22-4. Meanwhile, Poirier has had an impressive 33 total fights, with a record of 26-6.
Both fighters will go out, all guns blazing to get the win and to take themselves one step closer to the UFC lightweight title.

Premier League: Man United End City Winning Run

Goals in both halves saw Manchester United earn a 2-0 win over Manchester City that ended their rivals’ 21-game winning run.
The game got off to a lively start, with Gabriel Jesus giving a penalty away within the opening minute after fouling Anthony Martial.
Bruno Fernandes converted from 12 yards – despite Ederson diving the right way – to give Man United an early foothold in the game.

Moments later, Luke Shaw had a chance to double the lead from close range, but Ederson saved.
City had appeals for a penalty of their own when Raheem Sterling went down in the box, but Taylor waved them away.
Ilkay Gundogan had a couple of chances for City as they upped the ante, but Dean Henderson held firmly onto one of his efforts.
Henderson, deputising for David De Gea, also made his presence known by tipping over a Kevin De Bruyne free kick.
Just like the first half, the second half started with intent from one side – with City this time going close to an early goal. However, Rodri’s effort struck the woodwork.
Man United then doubled their lead asShaw drove forward before playing a one-two with Marcus Rashford on his left and curling it into the bottom corner.
There was a huge chance for Martial midway through the half however, Ederson saved his side-footed finish from a one-on-one situation.
At the other end, Phil Foden – freshly on as a substitute – fired wide from close range.
There was then a big chance for Sterling, who failed to connect with an inviting Kyle Walker cross.
It summed up City’s game, as they created plenty but failed to truly test Henderson. United saw out the win to close the gap at the top to 11 points with 10 games left.

Rodgers Lavishes Praise On Iheanacho For ‘Coming Up Trumps ‘ During Leicester’s Injury Crisis

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has heaped plaudits on Kelechi Iheanacho for ”coming up trumps’ just when the club need him to.

The Nigeria international has now scored fourtimes in his last seven games for the Foxes.Read Also: Iheanacho: Leicester City Had Hunger To Beat Brighton

He has been called upon in recent weeks because of injuries to the duo of James Maddison and Harvey Barnes and he is making the most of his chances.“He has a bit of everything,” Rodgers was quoted by Leicestermercury.co.uk.

“He’s come up trumps in a lot of the games recently, if you think back to Fulham, he scored that important header. His contribution was outstanding.
“In the first half it got away from him too much, he had too many touches and was losing possession, but when he intensified his game, he played quicker and his finish was superb. That’s the level of confidence he’s at.
“He worked hard for the team and his contribution was valuable.”

Adarabioyo: Fulham Can Get Positive Result At Liverpool

Tosin Adarabioyo is confident Fulham can get a positive result against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday (today).
The Whites will look to bounce back from Thursday’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur when they come up against the champions.
“Liverpool are still the Premier League champions so you’ve got to respect that. We’ve got to go out there and put on a show and try to get a performance,” Adarabioyo told Sky Sports.

“I feel like we can take a lot of confidence from that game [the reverse fixture in December]. We went out there and played our game, we had a lot of opportunities and the game could have gone either way really.

“We were winning 1-0 for quite a while in the game before the end so that can give us a lot of confidence to go to Anfield and try and get a good result.
“We know how offensive Liverpool are and what a great attack they have so it’s just trying our best to nullify them.”
Adarabioyo only joined Fulham on a permanent deal from Manchester City in October and he has defended his decision to chase regular first-team football.
The player of Nigerian descent also reviewed his previous loan stints away from the Etihad Stadium in the Championship.
“I had full belief [to be able to perform in the Premier League]. I know the qualities that I have and I know I’m able to perform in this league and I’m showing that now,” he continued.
“I learnt from some great players at Manchester City. They gave me a lot of tips that helped me push on to this day.
“West Brom was a more difficult loan spell but Blackburn was a great platform to show myself and show everybody else what I’m capable of. I gained some confidence and it helped me push on this season.
“I just knew I had to get out and play regular football and I knew this club was the right place to come to. I came to Fulham because the opportunity to work with the gaffer and his staff was a big positive.”
